Medical Response
Xtreme Medical Services is a registered trademark of Rocky Mountain Adventure Medicine Inc. The company is registered as an emergency provider with the Alberta College of Paramedics (ACP) and uses the terms Advanced Life Support (ALS) and paramedic as defined by the Alberta College (Alberta College of Paramedics (ACP). For our clients, this translates as a level of care that are of the highest standard within North America.
We are also experienced in the area of Water Rescue should this be a part of your terrain requirement(s).
Advanced Life Support
When an individual is injured or ill in a remote location, the margin of salvage-ability, patient comfort and patient recovery can be measured directly in relation to the medical intervention capability of the emergency provider. Your choices are well-meaning first aider's, Basic Life Support or an ALS team that has the ability to respond in all conditions and in all terrain? Advanced Life Support can (and does) make the difference between life and death! This is not a melodramatic statement but rather one of irrefutable fact! To this end Xtreme Medical Services stands by this principle of providing ALS teams, i.e. a minimum of one paramedic and one EMT-A to our clients.
Protocols and Medical Control
XMS is at the forefront of delivering out-of-hospital medical intervention, whether measured against back-country providers or major metropolitan services. We accomplish this with aggressive medical protocols that have been carefully constructed with remote locations and harsh conditions in mind. This places considerable responsibility both on the shoulders of our staff in maintaining their level of training and of our medical director in demonstrating confidence in their abilities.
Xtreme Medical Services brings to your location the latest innovations in equipment and the most current clinical interventions, tempered with well thought out practical application, i.e. it is no use taking a new and exciting medical concept into an environment where it will not perform effectively. We are on the cutting edge of ALS provision, but not at the expense of functionality.
In addition to the provision of medical service, we also undertake the stabilization of and coordination of a search for, or a rescue of, an individual (or individuals) that has become lost or disoriented. To this end our protocols include practical, proven working solutions for coordinating a Search and Rescue operation.
